Uprising: Protecting Transgender Lives

This two-part workshop with Jenn Burleton of TransActive Gender Project and guest attorneys will focus on the current state of legal protections for transgender people at the federal and state level (for Oregon and Washington). It will also address the growing number of proposed anti-trans youth legislation in so-called “Red” states, and steps to prevent the spread of such legislation.

Transgender in America: Looking Back and Moving Forward

This online workshop will help participants have a better understanding of the complex personal, social, political and medical challenges that affect the lives of transgender people. Discussion will be relevant to those across the age spectrum, and include a retrospective examination of how generational attitudes toward gender diversity have impacted policies, civil and human rights, and access to healthcare.

Gender Diversity in Children & Youth: Inclusive & Affirming Care in Schools

This workshop for educators, school counselors, volunteers and other school personnel will focus on how we can work toward creating inclusive and affirming classroom and school environments for gender nonconforming, gender diverse and transgender students in K-12 schools. Workshop content will be informed by presenter Jenn Burleton’s more than 10 years of gender diversity-specific interaction with students and schools.
