Data is all around us. We use it to make decisions, to draw conclusions, and to tell our stories. We hear about it in the news, we read about it online, we are quick to cite it in our conversations. Making sense of data is a key 21st century literacy, and students need to engage with the tools and practices of both math and science from an early age. Yet data science is not typically a feature of our math or science courses at any point K-12.
