Type of strategy: AssessmentClosings and Wrap UpProcessing

Quick formative self-assessment of student understanding of a topic.

Directions: 

  1. Pose a question or query on student's understanding of instructions or topic.
  2. Students show the level of their understanding through the following means: Thumbs up means full understanding, thumb to the side means partial understanding and thumb down means no understanding.
  3. Adjust/Reteach as needed to accomodate the needs of the entire group.
