This is a great opener or get-to-know-you activity for a group of people. It requires a large room and the ability to move around a bit.

Directions:

Participants stand in a circle, either around a large table, or in a circle on the floor, in front of a "place marker." The "place marker" can be a chair pushed under the table or an "X" on the floor made with painters' tape.

The facilitator will ask a series of questions, and depending upon participants' answers to the questions, participants will either stay where they are or move one place to the right. The first person to make it all the way around the circle is the "winner" and receives a prize.

Sample Questions (these should be prepared in advance):

  • Are you wearing glasses today?
  • Are you wearing jeans today?
  • Do you have an iPad?
  • Are you wearing athletic shoes?
  • Do you read books on mobile devices?
  • Have you ever visited Washington DC?
