Narrow Options

Type of strategy: Brainstorming and DiscussionCollaborationGroup Management

Provide narrowed choices for items like photos, music, settings and effects that keep students focused on a learning goal instead of being sidetracked by glitz and glitter.

Directions:

Look for ways to use technology to narrow student choices for items that are not directly tied to higher level thinking and direct curricular goals.  For example, provide curated photo collections instead of having students google search, certain lists of effects that can be used in movie software....Really not a new idea (digital kits) but one that teachers do not use frequently enough.
