Memory Activity for Large Groups

Type of strategy: Energizers and State ChangersMovementOpeners & Get to Know You

Learning styles: ES: Extraversion and Sensing

People introduce themselves to the group and use kinesthetic reminders as they speak!

Directions:

My Favorite Activity Is . . . (30 minutes)
  • Up to groups of 40 people.
  • Break into two or more groups if your main group is larger.
  • Create two lines with the lines facing one another about four feet from each other.
  • First person runs through the line stating, “Hi, my name is (state your name) and I like to play baseball.” Mime swinging a bat, then run off to the side of the room
  • As finishing through the line, call the next group member to run through.
  • Each participant states his/her name while miming an activity they enjoy as they run through.
  • Continue until everyone has introduced themselves.

May be used as a closing activity again to help people remember names of those they've gotten to know throughout the session.
