Lower, Lean, and Listen

Type of strategy: Group Management

Useful strategy for managing a large group of laptop users to gain full attention.

When you want the attention of your participants, simply direct them to "Lower, Lean, and Listen."

Participants have been taught that this means they need to lower their laptop screen to a lean, about 45 degrees, so as to remove the temptation to fiddle with their computer, but not so closed that the computer goes into "sleep mode" and takes time to start up again.

Participants should then lean in and listen to the directions from instructor.
