Please join us at the Grand Ronde Education Summit Event on June 25, 2020 via Zoom. This is a FREE professional development event and opportunity to learn about native based curriculum, best practices, tribal history and so much more! The event is open to all educators. Educators will earn PDU credits for attending, as well as resources and materials to take home and use in your classrooms right away!
We will be hosting two sessions at this event on Senate Bill 13 Tribal History/Shared History. Below are the session descriptions:
SESSION #1 DESCRIPTION: Join us for a presentation of the SB 13 Tribal History/Shared History curriculum initiative. Our objective is to have participants come away with an understanding of the background on SB 13 (the what and the why), The Essential Understandings of Native Americans in Oregon, The 6 P’s: Critical Orientations for Indigenous Studies Curriculum, as well as advising and tools educators can use to teach and/or train others on the curriculum successfully.
SESSION #2 DESCRIPTION: This session is an open forum and opportunity to come together and ask questions, engage in dialogue around SB 13 Tribal History/Shared History, network with other colleagues currently teaching and training the curriculum, and share best practices for successful implementation in classrooms/schools/districts/organizations.
