The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is seeking educators interested in participating in the scoring of ELA and mathematics test items for statewide summative assessments.

The initial training for this project will occur on April 12, 2019, at the Willamette Educational Service District. Substitute and travel costs for the April 12 training day would be covered by ODE.

The training is primarily intended for individuals who would like to gain professional development and increased knowledge of hand-scored items and the rubrics used to score them. Applicants would need to apply for either ELA or mathematics scoring.

Following that training day, qualified raters would then commit to scoring items remotely during their own off-contract time throughout spring. Applicants would be signed on as temporary employees with Measurement Incorporated and would receive compensation at the standard ODE rate of $26.04 per hour.

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, March 8, 2019 and ODE will notify successful applicants by March 18th along with information on next steps.
