Space for Graduation Coaches to connect and share resources that make a difference with students.
Does anyone have a great model for these types of visits, that they are getting wonderful results?
We at ODE wanted to thank you all for your attendance at the first meeting of newly forming graduation coaches network. If we can do no more than connect you to your colleagues across the state, we will have done very important work.
1) Not much training, fairly new to roles and new programs. South Salem High School -STAND For Children Training, Salem-Keizer District 9th Grade Success Team meetings, AVID Trainings
Opening options to students in rural communities.
Push for self awareness/ personal values.
Start at younger ages.
Create accountability network for completing assignments from classes to include other students and parents.
Meet with parents and students together.
I would love to have the ideas that were shared this morning about 8th grade transition/summer bridge programs posted here! It would help me to hear:Overall DescriptionBenefits (anecdotal as well as quantitative)
Forest Grove-hired third assistant principal–VP doing grad coaching, grad plan,
Freshman on-track–freshman teams–meet monthly,
AVID–two per grade level–getting close with school-wide,
Highlight two or three items from this mornings conversations that you learned and will take back to your school.
