Bridging the Gap Between SEL and Coding for Early Learning

11/19/2020 - 12:00pm

Grade levels: Professional Development, Pre-K, K, 1, 2, 3

Content areas: Elementary Ed, Professional Development

District/Organization: edWeb

In this edWebinar, discover how coding and robotics can bridge the gap between key SEL development and play-based, screen-free coding activities. Why is this so important? In early childhood, it is critical for learners to develop and foster social and emotional learning skills in order to build an understanding of self, how they relate to others and the world around them. Coding and robotics are powerful tools that can help learners, as young as three years old, target and learn through play-based instruction to develop self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

This edWebinar will be of interest to preK-3 teachers and school and district leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
