Become a Trauma Informed Educator (TIE) and develop strategies in the classroom to effectively support children who have experienced trauma. Work with a cohort of peers to learn the brain science behind behavior and learning, develop mindfulness strategies, explore personalized learning, and implement self care strategies in order to reduce burnout.
This Certification Program is aimed at helping children heal in a safe environment while reducing teacher turnover in schools impacted by high levels of trauma. Our program is in partnership with community agencies and the Educational Psychology Department at California State University East Bay.
University credit will be available and partnerships with school districts are being created in order to encourage recognition of a new class of teachers who are Trauma Informed. Our next cohort is scheduled to begin September 2019 and will take place 1 Saturday a month for 10 months and 1 weeknight a month online. The program runs September 2019-May 2020.
