We are focusing on this topic because young people aged 15-24 account for half of all new sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the U.S. each year. STIs are common, treatable, and preventable, and affect people of all sexual and gender identities.
This webinar will:
1) review the prevalence of STIs among youth in Oregon
2) discuss policies regarding minors and STI services in Oregon
3) explore the biological, logistical, and cultural factors impacting STI rates among adolescents
4) demystify STI testing by describing how the most common tests are performed
5) provide inclusive messaging about STI risks based on anatomy and sexual activities.
