The Northwest Mathematics Conference is one of the finest regional education conferences in North America. Each fall, the conference is sponsored by the state or provincial math teachers’ council of Oregon, Washington, or British Columbia.

In 2017, the conference will be held in Portland on October 12-14. Keynote speakers are Dan Meyer, presenter of TED Talk “Math Class Needs a Makeover” and Chief Academic Officer of Desmos, and Fawn Nguyen, math teacher, presenter, curriculum writer, and author of several online curricular resources, including visualpatterns.org and mathtalks.net. Other speakers include Chris Shore of the Math Projects Journal, Graham Fletcher, Annie Fetter of the Math Forum, and Robert Kaplinsky.
