Personal bio
I was raised in Southern Oregon, and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Medford. From there I went on to Willamette University. There I played volleyball, basketball and softball as a Bearcat of Willamette. After graduation I went on to coach at volleyball and basketball for several high schools and clubs within the Southern Oregon area, where eventually I hung up the coach whistle to become a varsity volleyball official. After some stints as a 911 operator/ dispatcher, a crisis counselor for the Jackson Co. DA's office and an accounting manager, I went on to work in special education for Eagle Point High School while I worked on my Masters. I have taught at North Medford High School and South Middle School in Grants Pass. I am endorsed in Social Studies and Language Arts. My family relocated to Clatskanie eight years ago when I took a position at CMHS teaching Language Arts, Social Studies, Technology and Leadership. I coach several area youth teams in softball and basketball as well as coach CMHS's Speech & Debate team and run the journalism club.
I currently compete in Competitive Archery in competitions throughout the Northwest and at the National level. This is something that my entire family participates in and archery is a passion for our family. Other hobbies include horseback riding, camping, fishing, hunting, reading, bead work, sewing. and black powder rifle competitions.
