Personal bio
I work to create and support hands-on, inquiry based learning environments that promote team-work and creative learning experiences. I had the privilege of defining Tualatin High School's Engineering and Computer Science Pathway Programs and started our after-school technology program consisting of FIRST Robotics Competition teams, FIRST Tech Challenge teams, Oregon Game Competitions teams, and Willamette Programming Competition teams. I've had the opportunity to work with some incredible students, educators, and industry experts.
In addition to teaching engineering and computer science classes at Tualatin High School, I am the STEM Network Director for the South Metro-Salem STEM Hub, a partnership of 15 school districts, higher educational institutions and business and community partners. Our mission is to strengthen K-20 STEM education by utilizing public and private resources and by modeling exemplary instructional practices.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in technology as a Senior Design Engineer for Intel Corporation and as a Hardware Engineering for Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation.
